Organic nappies
Every 'disposable' nappy that was ever made is still with us, quietly festering away in some land fill (they take about 1000 years to biodegrade). But the alternative conjours images of large pots of boiling water, slowly being stirred for hours at a time.
Of course the reality is far from this. Modern washing machines will handle nappies quite easily and, let's face it, you're going to be doing plenty of washing anyway. Cloth nappies can be washed and reused hundreds of times, more than enough for two kids worth, they reduce nappy rash, have no suspect chemicals and represent a much better use of the world's resources by minimising waste.
Even better, for around the same price as disposables, a number of companies
are offering nappy laundering services (see below).
