In addition, specialist companies are emerging who will ship a wide range of organic vegetables and fruit direct to your door. Often called 'box schemes' these vary from company to company but all are based around you purcasing a box of supplier selected organic vegetables. Your box will be delivered to your door with a range of seasonal vegetables and fruit (minus the ones you have told them you don't like).

Box schemes are a particulary good way of supporting local producers and an excellent way of eating in tune with the seasons. It's all too easy to take the ready availability of foods for granted and when they are there all the time don't they seem to lose a little flavour?
