Organic cleaningWe are more than a little used to having a whole chemical arsenal of weapons at our disposal to remove the grime of everyday life. Advertisements bombard us with the message that 'squeaky clean' perfection is the ultimate household goal but is this really such a desirable state of affairs? Some studies have formed a link between the rise of ultra-clean environments and the incidence of asthma. It seems that we need bacteria as children to build up an immunity to the world around us. Anti-bacterial agents are killing the very things we need to be healthy. More than this, we are filling our homes with chemical residues that we then breathe in or absorb through our skin in quantities that would cause a public outcry if they escaped from a chemical factory. Cleaning your home to high standards need not rely on the chemical arsenal. Salt, baking soda, white vinegar and fresh lemon juice will clean a house cheaply and effectively. In reality, however, few of us would like to preceed the chore of housework with a lemon squeezing session. Fortunately a wide range of products that contain dramatically fewer noxious ingredients are now available. Whilst most of these cannot be described as 'organic' in the true sense of the word, they are much closer to the ideal than standard products. You can tell the difference immediately between 'mountain fresh additve 324b' and a citrus essential oil. Remember, the only way we are able to smell something is if the chemical molecules enter our body! Organic cleaning product suppliers
